Woodbridge resident Michael Nelson is at large following a domestic dispute in Dumfries over the weekend, where he allegedly assaulted a 34-year-old woman, officials say.
According to the Prince William County Police Department, at approximately 10:45 p.m., on Saturday, June 15, there was a verbal altercation in the 3000 block of Antrim Circle in Dumfries, that rapidly escalated.
Investigators say that during the dispute, Nelson attacked the woman before grabbing her neck. He then left, but not before taking his victim's phone to prevent her from calling the police.
Attempts to track him down have been unsuccessful.
He was still wanted as of Tuesday, June 18 for:
- Malicious wounding;
- Strangulation;
- Preventing the summoning of law enforcement;
- Domestic assault and battery.
Nelson was described as being approximately 6-foot-4 weighing 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
